Timeline

The First Baptist Dallas congregation voted Nov. 1 to approve the recommended plan presented by the church’s Planning and Development Committee and proceed with a capital campaign to raise money for the future project. The new facilities are expected to cost $130 million, making it the largest church building campaign in modern history.

Between now and May 2010, First Baptist is asking its members to make a three-year commitment to the building program, above and beyond their regular contributions, with the total to be announced on May 2. The goal is to begin construction in the fall of 2010 and be completed debt-free in 2013.

Significant contributions from non-members and friends of the ministry already have been provided as advance support of the project, and anyone interested in this heart-of-Dallas ministry is encouraged to participate by giving to the building fund.
